Anticorruption
Tatweer is building the capacity of Iraq's Anti-Corruption Agencies through a program of individual training, organizational development and communication improvement. Tatweer recognizes the key to affecting change in Iraqi’s public corruption is to focus on the implementers of Civil Service Anti-Corruption policies, coordinating training and institutional development with:
The Commission on Public Integrity
The Board of Supreme Audit
The Inspectors General Office
The Anti-Corruption Agencies (ACA's) are charged with preventing, deterring and punishing corruption. With Tatweer's help, the ACA's will be able to more effectively reduce corruption and improve the processes of government. While the program includes skills training in management, audits and inspections, TATWEER simultaneously strengthens institutional capacity and facilitates communication.
Tatweer is strengthening the ACA's with a three-part training plan, combining individual skills training, organizational change management and the creation of a secure document archiving and communication network.
This will allow for archiving and communication in a secure, but transparent environment.
TATWEER will embed an advisor in each ACA office, and is providing training to civil servants designed to improve Budgeting, Human Resources, Procurement, Planning, and IT. With the increased skill sets on both individual and institutional levels, these organizations can continue tackling corruption— ensuring a transparent government able to care for its constituents.
