13 Dec 2008 –

An MoH training for the rural Al-Suwaire, a population of 130,000, about 120 kilometers from Al-Kut, prompted an enthusiastic request to bring the training from Al Kut to the small district instead, and it didn’t take long to turn one of Al-Suwaire’s Primary Health Care Centers into a training center for the entire roll out training.

The Ministry of Health Capacity Development Plan (CDP), developed by the Tatweer project emphasized the importance of looking at the future of the health sector through a strategic budgetary planning framework, which addresses the evolving health needs of the Iraqi people.

30 Nov 2008 – The USAID-funded Tatweer project reached over 100 participants from Baghdad’s Ministry of Electricity, North Oil Company, Bahji Refinery, North Gas, and Kirkuk’s Training Institute (KOTI). The employees participated in a Strategic Planning coaching session led by Tatweer senior advisors from the Leadership and Communications and Strategic Planning teams.

On November 12, the Ministry of Municipalities and Public Works (MoMPW) held for the first time, a workshop on the benefits of the Human Resources Management System (HRMS) designed to make workflow and payroll functions easy and efficient.

Top Iraqi engineers from different ministries have gained valuable
hands-on  problem solving experience using a rigorous risk analysis
approach; in a specialized Advanced Contract and Project Management Course (C/PMS) to introduce a rigorous risk analysis approach and to provide mentoring using real-world projects as the engineers work through the course.
